Q: What is the difference between the service offered by VRAssist and that of a full-service property manager?

A: Great question! A full-service property management company is just that:  they handle every detail and aspect of offering a property for rent on the vacation rental market, from advertising the property on their own Property Management Company website, to handling inquiries and reservations, key-handling, cleaning and maintenance.  Rates for a full-service property manager range on average from 25% - 60% (depending on your area.)

VRAssist is a marketing and booking service.  We help our clients advertise their property (either through their existing listings on VRBO.com or Airbnb.com) or by helping them to create listings on these sites.  We also handle all inquiries from travelers and properly handle reservations.  Our service is a perfect fit for those who want to maintain some control over the management of their vacation rental property but not have to be bothered with handling the time-consuming details of listing and reservation management.  You can view VRAssist's rates here.

Q: What does VRAssist consider to be the responsibilities of the property owners?

A:  VRAssist partners with owners to create a successful collaboration for their vacation rental properties. We'll handle the marking and bookings….you handle the rest! 

•  You must own the property or have a legal right to advertise & rent the property
•  You must secure a professional, dependable housekeeping service
•  You must secure a dependable maintenance service who will be available to address maintenance issues at the property. (This service must be available 24/7…. issues don't always occur during normal business hours!)
•  You must honor all reservations
•  You must keep the property in good condition with regular maintenance
•  You are responsible for securing all appropriate business licenses for your property's location and reporting and paying all required sales taxes

Q:  Why do you promote VRBO.com and Homeaway.com? Don't you work with any other vacation rental websites?

A:  On the "About" page on this site you'll see that we have personal, real-life experience with these two sites.  Our founder worked for VRBO.com and Homeaway.com for over 11 years so we are intimately familiar with the operations, policies and procedures of VRBO.com and Homeaway.com.  We can help you with listings on other vacation rental websites but these two specific sites are the industry leaders.  In addition there are many tools and resources that integrate with your listings on VRBO.com and Homeaway.com that can maximize your investment.  You'll get more "bang for your buck" if you advertise your vacation rental property on VRBO.com and Homeaway.com.
