Welcome to Surfside Light! We are glad you could make it and we sincerely hope you enjoy your stay. Please read through this manual as it has some helpful information about the house and the surrounding area. If you have any questions you may contact us directly:

Check In Procedure

CHECK-IN TIME IS AFTER 4 P.M. LOCAL TIME. NO Early Check-ins.

We recommend guests arriving before dark to ensure you are able to easily locate the beach house.

There is a lock box hanging on the railing of the front deck across from the door. The code to open the lockbox is:

Access Code: The access code for your stay will be sent via email to you 10 days in advance of your arrival. If you don't see that email in your INBOX please check your JUNK or SPAM folders.

Complete an inspection of the property upon arrival and immediately report anything broken or damaged. If damage is discovered after checkout that was not initially reported, you may be held responsible.

Information Binder

Please be sure to read the Information Binder that has been provided in the house, it contains important information that will be helpful during your stay. You'll find instructions about the house and the area including local suggestions for things to do, attraction and local restaurants. Be sure to read the Beach Rules that are also included in the binder as everyone in your party should be aware of them. 

Beach House Rules

1) Person reserving unit must be at least 21 years of age and MUST occupy the Unit.

2) All Registered Guests will be Responsible for the actions of their family members, or unit occupants, and all visitors.

3) Please be respectful to our neighbors and their private property!

4) Max Occupancy 13 people

5) CANCELLATION POLICY AND REFUNDS: Refunds are not given for an early departure. All reservations are guaranteed reservations. Departing early due to weather, illness, emergencies, change of plans, or being asked to leave for failure to comply with rules and regulations are NOT given. Refunds are given for mandatory Island evacuations ONLY.

6) Quiet Hours: The city of Surfside has a curfew for those under 18 years of age. We kindly ask that you follow the guidelines of the city. Guests age 15 and under should be indoors by 10 PM. Guests ages 16 and 17 should be indoors by midnight. We also ask that you respect our neighbors by remaining as quiet as possible after 10 PM.

7) Do Not Remove Anything from the home. Each room is carefully inspected upon your departure with an itemized list. ANYTHING missing from house will be billed directly to occupant (this includes linens, silverware, glasses, decor, etc). Please do not use bath towels as beach towels (excessive cleaning charges will apply).

8) Parking We are not responsible for vehicles while being parked at the property.

9) No Smoking in the house.

10) No Pets Allowed. Violators must remove any animal or leave. No refunds given. Guests may also be charged an extermination fee, plus one night rental charge for loss of income due to down time and repairs.

11) Please do not flush feminine products, disposable wipes, or cooking grease down the drain. These items WILL cause the septic system to backup or fail.

12) If you bring a grill please use it safely away from the house. Guests are responsible for any damage caused by sparks, flames, or fire that damages the property in any way.

13) All trash must be put into plastic trash bags and placed inside the provided bin downstairs or the dumpster at the end of the street. In the summer trash pick up days are Tuesdays and Fridays so if you are at the house on those days please roll the trash bin to the curb in the mornings for pick up. Thanks!

14) No Loud Music, tv, instruments, loud voices. Noisy disorderly or offensive conduct, or conduct annoying or disturbing to other residents will NOT be tolerated. UNDER AGE DRINKING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. ANY VILOATORS WILL BE SUBJECT TO REMOVAL - NO REFUND. Any damage for excessive cleaning upon your departure, or additional charges or damages for furnishings, appliances, plumbing, etc. due to the negligence of guest shall be billed to guest.

15) You are responsible to provide additional trash bags, toiletry items, soaps , kitchen basics, etc beyond what was available when you arrived. Consumable items are not replenished.

16) Do Not Run AC/Heater with doors open and/or windows open.

Safety Information

1) There is a fire extinguisher in the cabinet below the sink in case of emergency.
2) Be aware that during certain times of the year, the road and steps leading to the beach house may be slippery.
3) Don't put any metal items in microwave, including aluminum foil, silverware, etc.

Oven Instructions

Sometimes the breaker to the oven will pop without warning. There is a document with instructions on what to do when that happens hanging on the wall above the stove:

If the oven does not work go into the bedroom across from the kitchen. Open the breaker box. Switch off the oven breaker at the very top on the left side; then switch back on to reset the oven. You do not need to reset the time (this seems to mess up the breaker connection to the oven.)

TV, Internet, and Phone Access

For TV viewing you can access Sling TV and Netflix through the TV apps. Board games(in the console under the TV) along with the NBA virtual game and the shuffleboard are provided for your gaming pleasure.

We are not responsible for acts of nature and occasionally you might have to reset the modem. Simply unplug it from the wall behind the TV console, wait 5 minutes and plug it back in. Also shut down and restart any electronics you may have (phones, computers, pads, etc). There is no landline.

Trash Pickup

In the summer the trash is picked up on Tuesday & Friday mornings. During the rest of the year trash is picked up on Tuesdays only.
Please help us out by pulling the trash bins to the curb on Monday and Thursday evenings for Tuesday and Friday morning pickup in the summer (and on Monday evenings for Tuesday pickup the rest of the year).

Water In Surfside

The local water in Surfside is safe for household use but you may want to purchase bottled water to drink. Also, if there has been a lot of rain the water may back up in the toilets. There are plungers in the bathrooms that should help resolve the problem, or else just wait and as the water has time to drain away the levels in the toilets will go down.

Check Out Process
1. Sweep or vacuum floors. (Doesn't have to be perfect, but helps us a lot) Vacuum and broom are in the front bedroom closet.
2. Rinse showers and sinks free of excess dirt and hair.
3. Load dishwasher with the final load of dishes and start. Please wash, dry and put way any extra dishes.
4. Counters wiped clean with wash cloth. Cleaning staff will take care of minor stains, don't worry about them.
5. All trash bagged and placed outside in the trash bin. Place bins at curb on Monday and Thursday evenings for Tuesday and Friday morning pickup in the summer (and on Monday evenings for Tuesday pickup the rest of the year.)
6. Leave wet towels to air dry on towel racks.
7. Leave folded bed quilts, bed pillows, and blankets on the mattress pad on each bed.
8. Tum A/C to 80 degrees in the summer. In the winter tum the system to OFF.
9. Double Check to make sure all lights are turned off except front porch light.
10. Make sure the door and all windows are locked.

CHECK OUT TIME IS ALWAYS 11:00 AM.
